Daily Connect: Cancer and Community

In the past year, our sangha has experienced all the vicissitudes of existence;  old age, sickness, and death.  Several of us lost their parents; one member's father had a serious heart attack; another's mother had breast cancer; yet another's grandparent had a stroke.  Several members experienced serious illness personally; one woman had a mysterious immune disorder requiring several blood transfusions; another the removal of a benign brain tumor, and another, Natalie Rodriguez, was diagnosed with cancer.

Natalie tells her story in the below video.  She's been an inspiration to me, and I'm just so thrilled she's part of our IDP family.   Experiencing the truth of existence isn't easy, but her example demonstrates how being present with whatever arises is the most effective way to transform suffering into wisdom and compassion.
